How it started
Spark & Pepper was founded by Janne Geurts. I have been an athlete and represented the Netherlands at the World Championships Ultra Trail Running. Due to a severe injury after the World Champs in 2018, I wasn't able to walk for 7 months, and was thus forced to revise my own motivations and dreams. I realised that I wanted to help others in their personal development and in achieving their dreams, instead of just focusing on my own personal development. And so I founded Spark & Pepper. Right now, I can't be more grateful for my injury for turning my life around. I live my dream life, every day. There truly is nothing like waking up every day with a deep sense of happiness and fulfillment. I honestly do wish the same for you too.

Originally I'm Dutch and I've lived in the UK for 7 years. My biggest dream has always been to live in the Alps (more specifically: Grenoble). Chances of success were less than 1% but thanks to our optimism, hard work and an enormous dose of luck we ended up in Grenoble, exactly what we'd dreamed of for many years. I currently offer my services online or in Grenoble, the Gresivaudan and Geneva.
Graduated humanistic councellor & coach
I’m a graduated humanistic counsellor & coach by having a BA + MA in Humanistic Studies. This means that I’m specialised in coaching and guiding people with life processes and existential questions, for which I studied 7.5 years. I assist in exploring thoughts, feelings and behaviour, in discovering your strengths and dreams, in developing the right mindset for achieving these, and in integrating new habits into everyday life.
International Mountain Leader (Accompagnateur en Moyenne Montagne)
Being in nature is important to me. I realise what the outdoor does to us in terms of our wellbeing. I'm eligible to work as an international mountain leader in summer conditions, and offer perfsonal growth programmes in nature.
Multilingual - worked in various European countries
During my career, I worked as a trainer, coach, lecturer, and project manager in various European countries, of which 7 years in the UK. I'm fluent in English, Dutch, French and German. I am the author of the book ‘Group Conversations', which is published for university students in social sciences. The core of my work has always been to nudge people towards living their authentic life.
Ex-elite athlete: creating a high performance mindset
As an athlete, I'm aware of how much we want to achieve the very best. There are so many similarities between our hectic and busy daily life and running an ultramarathon. In my coaching, retreats and workshops I share my strategies in creating a high performance mindset, a crucial aspect in achieving every dream or result in life.
I see a world in which people work very hard to be happy.
People are often constantly busy having lots of plans and obligations, to an extent that, in fact, it’s not really working anymore. I see that, in the end, people are not satisfied, get burned out, feel 'not good enough' and/or feel their life should be better than it is.
I believe that people can get more out of life and themselves.
Not necessarily by doing more but instead by being more aligned with who they truly are. I believe that a life aligned with who you are and what you find important is meaningful, fulfilling, gives satisfaction, and energy. Spark & Pepper's mission is to help you add a bit of pepper and a lot of sparks to your life. Sparks and peppers that stay, that you'll still feel in a few years time. Every day.
I am driven to inspire and help people in a lasting and effective way to be more aligned with themselves, their dreams, values, and authenticity. Because I believe that this is the only way people can get the best out of themselves. I can help you connect with your heart like I do with mine, and to identify the steps you can take so that you too will feel happy and fulfilled. Cause that's exactly what I wish for you too.
I'M ONE OF THOSE...
I’m also someone who is ambitious, and wants to get more out of life than possible.
Until six years ago I was often working until 11PM because I want to deliver quality. At the same time I crammed in training sessions because I wanted to run at the highest level, and I squeezed in some socials to have a rich social life too. Everything was planned so that it just about fitted. Most of the time however, it didn't. Six years ago I decided this wasn’t working. I took a closer look at my own habits and values in order to get a more ‘liveable’ life. I decided to no longer work until 11PM. I accepted that slightly lower standards would improve my work pleasure by 2000%. I allowed myself only to run with a big smile on my face. The result? I have more energy, and live my life with a full heart. Really.
